A glass patio canopy is a practical way to make more use of the space directly outside your home. The clear roof keeps the area open to natural light while providing a permanent sheltered zone over furniture, doors, paths or outdoor dining areas.
Unlike a temporary gazebo or fabric cover, an aluminium and glass canopy is designed as a long-term addition to the property. It provides dependable shelter while retaining an uncluttered, contemporary appearance. For traditional properties, decorative Victorian-style upgrades are also available.
The best system depends on the width and projection required, the building height, the appearance you want and how you plan to use the area. The Simplicity 6 is a popular glass-roof veranda system and can project up to 3.5m. The Simplicity Xtra is designed for larger outdoor living areas, with a maximum projection of up to 4m and wider spans between front posts. Other systems are available where a different roof material, projection or structural layout is more suitable.
The Simplicity 6 can be glazed with 6mm toughened glass or 6mm solid polycarbonate. A UV-activated self-cleaning glass option is also available, helping organic dirt break down so it can be washed away by rainfall when the roof is installed at the required pitch.
Your canopy can be designed to complement existing windows, doors and exterior finishes. Alongside standard finishes, the aluminium framework can be powder coated to a wide range of RAL and BS colours. Optional lighting and heating can extend the time you spend beneath the canopy after dark or in cooler weather.
